Here at CloseBot we want our users to have full control over how their bots respond and the quality of those responses. By adding the extra_prompt variable to your follow up webhook, we can give our bots a little extra direction or context so it comes up with the perfect follow up responses.

Add Extra_Prompt

I'm going to navigate to my Tool: Follow Up 1 Day workflow and click on our Generate Followup webhook.

In the webhook I am going to click on Add another item and add extra_prompt in the key field and the value will be the extra prompting you want to give your followup responses. I added Start the sentence by saying: hey where have you been? but make sure to always respond in the same language {{contact.first_name}} is using. You can add any extra prompting or direction you want to give your bot during followups.

Examine the Result

We can see here in our CloseBot dashboard where this extra_prompt gets injected into our usual followup prompting and based on the response, the AI followed the extra instructions I gave it. You can experiment with different prompting using the openai playground or anthropic workbench to hone in on the exact way you want AI to handle your followups.
